Quicknotes and invisibility

Hia,
I was wondering what you all thought of this. Sometimes I don't want to log in because there are some people I don't necessarily want to talk too at that time. However, there also may be just one or two that I do. So, therefore, I was wondering about the possibility of having something where you could log in invisibly and then select people who you wanted to see that you were logged in so that you could talk to them on quicknotes. Something kind of like person watch I guess, but to enable you to talk to specific people. That way, you wouldnt' be getting private quicknotes from people you didnt' want to talk too. I know that something a bit like this was bought up some time ago, and that it was felt that it would make the zone too cleeky, but, let's face it, the zone is cleeky anyway, so does and would, it really matter? Your thoughts?

There's nothing wrong with that per say but at lest in the meantime, just put the people you don't want to talk to on ignore (just ignore their private quick notes) and talk to those you want to exchange quick notes with,. If you turn of public quick notes and ignore those you don't want to talk to you achieve, essentially, the same purpose.
I'm not sure if being vissible to some but not others is a good idea Zonewise but then again I see nothing wrong with it, especially since you can almost achieve the same purpose (everything but the vissibility) using existing features.

Yeh, I just want to have to be messing around with ignore settings every time I log in

although you can just add those people to messenger/skype or what ever IM programme you use, most people have it these days so well yeah. although am not against the idea per say.

I like the idea of being invisible and still be able to talk to the few people that I talk to.

This idea is cool

I kind of like the idea too. I often have the same thought when I'm using Windows messenger. There are certain people who want to monopolize my time as soon as I log on, and I basically like them so don't want to hurt their feelings by deleting them, so it would be nice to be able to appear offline to them until I am in the mood to deal with them. And the same thing goes for here on the zone. It would be nice if a way could be devised to log on invisibly and only let certain people know that you are there.

this is a very good idea. some of us don't use an IM client as much as we used to, and would want to talk here, since we are already here. why make it more complex than it has to be?

Yeah i think that this should be done.
Or perhaps they could make it so that you can send pqn's and pm's when your invisable but just not qn's? You could then pqn someone telling them your around.
Another idea that i thought of just now is beeing able to change your status? For example, when i write a long post, i hate having to scrole down the list of qn's that people have been sending. With this, you could set yourself to say "away" so people would kno not to pm you or "on the phone" and maybe a "do not disterb" which would turn qn's off for you?
BEN.

I agree about the away mesage thing, but I do wish you could set the II a a agree wwith Caylia here, no away message, but the idea of being able to send quicknotes to certain people aas g sugar put it is a good one.
